Job description:
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented AutoCAD Designer with a Mechanical background to support automation engineering projects. The candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate mechanical drawings, layouts, and fabrication details for industrial automation systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and modify 2D/3D mechanical drawings using AutoCAD
- Prepare GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and assembly layouts, Boiling house Equipments, Vessel and Piping Drawings.
- Design layouts for automation equipment, machine structures, conveyors, and fixtures
- Interpret engineering sketches and convert them into detailed technical drawings
- Coordinate with mechanical and electrical teams for design integration
- Ensure drawings comply with industry standards and project specifications
- Maintain proper documentation, drawing revisions, and records
- Support project team with BOM preparation and detailing
- Assist in site measurements and preparation of as-built drawings
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 2 years of experience in AutoCAD drafting (Mechanical)
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawing standards and GD&T basics
- Experience in fabrication drawings and machine design layouts
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & basic 3D)
- Good understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and tolerances
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Preferred Skills
- Experience in industrial automation or special-purpose machines (SPM)
- Knowledge of SolidWorks / Inventor
- Basic understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics
- Familiarity with shop floor fabrication practices
